At Boka, we appreciate that consumers are interested in potential ways to limit their exposure to heavy metals. We strive to limit heavy metals in our products through a variety of methods including carefully selecting and sourcing our suppliers and ingredients and through testing. It's important to remember, though, that heavy metals are naturally occurring and present in air, water, soil, food, plants, vegetables, and the earth, so when we use any products that contain naturally derived ingredients (like essential oils), trace amounts levels of heavy metals can be present at low levels that are not harmful to health. Because we take quality and safety seriously, Boka requires that our toothpaste not only meets FDA guidelines (as confirmed through third party testing), but also that all our raw materials are tested and verified to be within California Proposition 65 limits for heavy metals, which are some of the most stringent standards in the world.
